The Golden Rat Tail
About five years ago I bought a golden rat tail cactus while on a trip to Tucson, AZ. It was a starter plant about 3" and starting to bloom.
The next couple of years it took off, so fast that I added a support post to help it grow straight!
Little did I know my direction was WAY off...
No longer will I think a cactus is fool proof!

Local Attractions
One of my favorite places in Seattle is The Palm Room. They have amazing displays, SO many plants that I have never seen before, and they now offer how-to tutorials! Check them out in Ballard...and say hi to their store puppy Jack.
When in Clearview I always try to head to FlowerWorld. This nursery has a HUGE selection of plants for indoor and outdoor projects. I am always impressed by the quality of the plants that I find here. They must all have good roots.
Downtown has a great shop called Young Flowers, I often wait for the bus on the corner of 3rd and Spring St., and I love staring at their wonderful Jade trees!
